• Palau and Korea Celebrate 20 Years of Friendship

     In attendance were some of Palau's Traditional Leaders and members of the Olbiil  Era Kelulau joining dozens of Korean residents in celebrating ties between the two countries that began March 22, 1995. Ambassador KIM , in his remarks mentioned Palau as "among the cleanest and most beautiful places to visit for romantic getaways in the world" attributing its spectacular beauty to the passion of the Palauan people towards the protection of the environment.

    Ambassador Kim also recognized over 100 of his fellow Koreans living in Palau contributing to Palau's economy and cultural diversity. Minister Kuartei made remarks on behalf of President Remengesau expressing that Palau and Korea, in their 20th year of friendship, "will now work together to take their relationship to a new elevation- A partnership that will focus on advocating democracy, adaptations against climate change with renewable energy, and enhancing tourism between the two countries towards higher value."
